After an exhaustive and careful consideration

of the subject, the Committee in January of this year

presented its Report, which has been published as a Sessional

Paper of which a copy is enclosed herewith.

3.

This Report has received the general approval

of the Government and it is proposed, subject to Your Lordship's concurrence, that the recommendations which it contains should be carried out as funds are available and

circumstances permit.

4.

With this end in view, I have authorized the

reservation of the various areas recommended as playing

fields in order to prevent their alienation without specific

authority.

5.

In view of the heavy work entailed in the preparation of the Report, to which reference is made in its 44th paragraph, I shall be glad if I may have Your Lordship's authority to recommend the vote of an honorarium of $300 to the Secretary, Mr. T. Megarry, and of $50 to the

stenographer, Miss Ferguson.
